Welcome to the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District.
- The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District serves a population of over 18,000 within 175 square miles. We are a combination fire department staffed by 2 full-time, 2 part-time, and 56 volunteer firefighters that operate from 6 stations.
- The department maintains a fleet of 5 engines, 3 engine/tankers, 2 tankers, 1 quint, 2 boats, 1 rescue unit, 5 fast response vehicles, 1 field service unit, 2 jet ski, and 2 drones.
- The department operates under the supervision of Chief Nathan B. Nation. Chief Nation is a 33-year veteran of the department starting as an explorer working his way through the ranks to become Chief in 1998.
- Mr. Glen Goebel is Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.
Mission Statement
TSCFD will provide fire protection and suppression to the City and County to the level of training received by its members and with the equipment available.
It will provide a fire prevention program to the extent that is practical and to the best of our ability.
It will provide basic assistance and a rescue program comparable to the training and ability of the members and to the extent that the equipment allows.
It will assist the community in a manner required to the extent practical and feasible within the departments standard operating guidelines and/or rules and regulations.
It will assist neighboring fire departments with mutual aid to the extent that the community protected by this department is not in danger.
It will obtain the latest in training techniques and fire fighting techniques to the best of our ability and within our budgetary and practical allowances.
It will be financially responsible with the communities funds provided and the equipment owned by this department.
It will maintain a fire & rescue service that this community can be proud of and it will strive to bring no dishonor up the community served by it.
